More and more property owners are affected by meth contaminated houses. Scope Building Surveyor’s samplers are industry certified. We have the capability to test for traces of methamphetamine (P) from suspected contaminated dwellings. Contamination can cost tens of thousands of dollars to Remediate and severely reduce property value, or worse potentially endanger the health of occupants. With our Baseline Meth testing, we can provide you peace of mind that your property has not been used as a meth-lab. Are you looking at selling your property? We can also carry out pre-purchase building reports!
Our Surveyors are industry certified to ensure Meth testing is carried out correctly and accurately. This provides you with a cost effective yet highly accurate method of testing.
Why choose Scope Building Surveyors?
Unlike competitors, we do not use onsite presumptive testing kits. Our Meth tests are carried out using individual wipe samples compliant with the NIOSH 9111 Sampling Method. The benefit of using swab samples over presumptive is that you are given a documented contamination level rather than a simple positive or negative. Results generally return 24hrs after the lab has received the samples.
A positive result from a basic presumptive test will require further swab testing, effectively doubling up the procedure ensuring you pay twice!
Your P contamination testing includes:
- Identify sample surfaces
- Up to 10 individual swab samples completed by an Industry Certified Sampler
- Lab testing and analysis of samples
- 2-3 working day turn around
- Written report with images detailing sample location
- Copy of lab results
- Completely confidential service
How many sites can I get tested?
The number of sites examined can range from 4 to 10 and is dependent on the size of the property. Samples are taken from each site. Scope Building Surveyors take up to 10 individual swab samples, which is suitable for an average 3-bedroom house. All sample locations and tested surface types are identified in a detailed report as well as a general overview of the property.
How does composite meth testing work?
Each sample is taken over an area of 100cm2 using methanol dampened cotton gauze swabs. The samples are then sent to Hill Laboratories (IANZ accredited) for analysis.
How accurate is this method?
Hill Laboratories method of analysis is very accurate. They can detect levels of methamphetamine down to 0.02μg/wipe. If sampled from an area of 100cm2 it means that their reported detection limit is 25 times below the Ministry of Health guideline limit, which is 1.5 μg /100cm2.
How much does it cost to get my house meth tested?
P contamination testing starts at as little as $110 plus GST
