Professional Meth Testing Services
Scope Building Surveyors offers industry-certified samplers with the capability to test for traces of methamphetamine (P) in properties.
Meth contamination can incur significant remediation costs, drastically reduce property value, and pose potential health risks. Our meth testing provides peace of mind that your property has not been contaminated.
Scope Building Surveyors excels in meth testing for several key reasons:
We use individual wipe samples compliant with the NIOSH 9111 Sampling Method, providing precise contamination levels instead of just positive or negative results.
Samples are processed in accredited labs, with results typically available within 24 hours of receipt, ensuring quick and accurate contamination reporting.
Our comprehensive testing reduces the need for additional swab tests, saving you time and money compared to basic presumptive tests.
We offer extensive testing, including up to 10 individual swab samples, detailed lab analysis, a written report with sample location images, lab results, and a fully confidential service.
While the subject of meth testing has garnered negative attention, the reality is that methamphetamine contamination is a genuine concern. It is being manufactured and used in communities across the country. Meth contamination knows no boundaries, affecting both low socioeconomic areas and upscale neighbourhoods alike.
Unfortunately, the meth testing industry is unregulated, leading to the presence of unscrupulous operators. Meth contamination is often invisible to the naked eye or intentionally concealed, posing serious health risks. Decontamination can be costly, running into thousands of dollars and rendering a house uninhabitable in severe cases.
With lab-based tests starting from $150, meth testing represents a small investment to ensure that you are investing in a healthy home. Our tests adhere to strict NIOSH 9111 sampling methods, providing reliable results and peace of mind.
The number of sites tested by Scope Building Surveyors typically ranges from 4 to 10, depending on the size of the property. For an average 3-bedroom house, up to 10 individual swab samples are taken from various locations.
Our comprehensive testing approach ensures thorough coverage of the property, with samples collected from each site. The tested surface types and sample locations are meticulously documented in a detailed report, providing you with a comprehensive overview of the property’s meth contamination status.
Composite meth testing involves the following steps:
Sampling Method: Methanol-dampened cotton gauze swabs are used to collect samples over an area of 100cm². This ensures that a sufficient amount of material is collected for analysis.
Sample Collection: Samples are taken from various surfaces within the property, covering key areas where methamphetamine residue may be present.
Laboratory Analysis: The collected samples are then sent to Hill Laboratories, an IANZ accredited facility, for analysis. Hill Laboratories utilises advanced testing methods to detect and quantify methamphetamine residue present in the samples.
Reporting: Once the analysis is complete, a detailed report is generated, providing information on the level of methamphetamine contamination detected in the samples. This report enables property owners to make informed decisions regarding remediation measures if necessary.
Hill Laboratories employs a highly accurate analysis method for methamphetamine testing. Their detection capabilities extend to levels as low as 0.02μg per wipe. This sensitivity ensures reliable detection well below the Ministry of Health guideline limit of 1.5 μg per 100cm².
For peace of mind regarding methamphetamine contamination in your property, our Baseline Meth testing service starts at just $150 plus GST.
