Weathertightness Report
Do you have concerns with your property? Get a weathertightness report!
Scope Building Surveyors run weather tightness inspections for private and commercial properties and are all about helping you to protect your asset. We will guide you through the investigation process of your leaky home inspection step by step. A weathertightness report is your first step to better understanding the issues or risks your property presents and the extent of investigation required.
Our leaky home inspections will check your property thoroughly from top to bottom. Your building will be assessed for visible signs of moisture ingress, high risk details as well as preventative measures to take. Often the worst leaks can remain well hidden and aren’t exposed until building materials begin to fail.
We will begin with an onsite consultation, which gives you the opportunity to discuss any concerns. At this first consultation Scope Building Surveyors will provide you with a summary of what will be involved for your weathertightness report. If you are looking at selling your property, we also carry out pre-purchase and pre-sale building reports.
From bottom to the top and inside out!
Our licensed and fully qualified building surveyors will work their way from the exterior foundations, elevations and roof coverings to the internal envelope. Generally our leaky home inspection begins with a non-invasive inspection of exterior cladding and flashing details around all accessible exterior elements, we will then carry out a full interior inspection including moisture testing. Throughout the entire inspection, our surveyors will take detailed pictures of any concerns or high risk areas.
Upon completion of the inspection, a detailed weathertightness report is compiled for you to review. If the leaky home inspection report highlights areas of concern, we are then able to plan further invasive testing if required.
