Asbestos Services
In April 2016 the Government introduced the Health and Safety at Work (asbestos) Regulations to implement new safety measures around the control of asbestos in the workplace. These regulations require that all Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s) at a workplace are identified and recorded by a competent person.
By law, any property built before the year 2000 requires a Comprehensive Asbestos Survey to be completed before Renovation or Demolition works area carried out. If you are carrying out renovations or demolition works to your property, it is then considered a workplace under these regulations.
Our highly-skilled Surveyors have been trained in Asbestos sampling procedures and hold the BOHS IP402 Qualification for Asbestos Sampling and Surveying in Buildings.
Our Surveyors will determine where Asbestos Containing materials are likely to be on site, the current condition of these materials and carry out bulk sampling for Lab analysis.
Services:
- Management Surveys
- Asbestos Refurbishment and Demolition surveys
- Bulk Sampling
- Asbestos Soil Sampling
Management Surveys: This survey is popular with workplaces and rental properties. The purpose is to identify all asbestos in the home or workplace so that it can be safely managed. The survey will include an assessment of the condition of identified Asbestos Containing Materials and recommendations for any remedial works required to ensure ACM’s remain low risk. Sampling will be limited to damaged materials only.
Asbestos Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys: This survey suits those carrying out renovations, partial demolition or complete demolition of a building. The purpose is to identify all asbestos containing materials in a property before renovations or demolition commences. This survey will require intrusive sampling of materials for lab analysis.
